The most notable stat by far is that there were more “upsets” on the right side (4) of the bracket than there were on the left (2).

A few interesting points of note….

In my opinion, the most shocking upset was Stomach Pain over Obstruction (constipation). I for sure thought that constipation was going to take that one home….

Antibiotic Resistance was the leading vote getter. While that wasn’t what I thought would be the leader in the clubhouse after the first round, I can’t say that I am surprised. Antibiotic resistance is a huge problem for people with CF.

Based on the voting above, I think it’s fair to say that people have had enough of running into doctors and nurses who are unfamiliar with CF.

Life Expectancy and Distended Stomach tied for winning the biggest blowouts over Salting and CF Voice respectively. I don’t think Salting ever stood a chance. #16 seeds continue to prove futile against the #1 big dogs. I did think, though, that CF Voice would do a bit better.

G-tube spills/leaks won the closest game over Supplemental Oxygen Tubing by a difference of 18 votes. I, for all it’s worth, am happy to see that my g-tube people came out in droves to push spills/leaks over the line!

I am sad to see the tournament come to an end for Purple, Alternative Remedy Recommendations and Medications Misting onto Screens – they were my picks for Cinderella’s!

The lowest seeded team to advance was Stomach Pain #13, followed by two #12’sUsing Multiple Pharmacies and G-tube spills/leaks.
